Plastic
The individual pieces of Plastic emerge from the gallery wall and reach toward the viewer, like groping fingers or emaciated ribs. Plastic presents a kind of implausible skeleton or threatening growth taking over the space. The naturalistic color and texture gives the growths an organic feel, but closer inspection reveals them to be the ultimate in artificiality: plastic shopping bags. The bags have been heat shrunk, emaciated and deformed.
